Opening post

Donny Walnuts: Hello everyone!

I'm sure it's just Amanda and myself for quite some time. Which really doesn't bother me, it's a way for us to get our thoughts out. It was inspired (at least for me) because I've seen some really cool multiple-contributor blogs that have turned out to be fantastic. Some I read regularly.

That being said Amanda and I have started this blog that we have equal contribution to. We've had so much fun posting in each others comments about various things, mostly political up until now. But the format is going to look a lot like an AIM conversation because if it weren't for Blogger, or e-mail we'd be discussing this all via AIM. We get heated at times... we'll see how this goes, but that's the general idea here.

...I'm going to try to keep my comments to a minimum to allow Amanda space to comment... keep it free flowing a bit.

Hope it turns out well! It's going to be a bit rigid and raw at first I'm sure till we get use to this format of posting.

So!

Go ahead Amanda! Say hello to the world (don't forget to use your red color to keep to our theme, and feel free to edit this post to do so! don't create a new post to say hi).

Amanda: (I don't really like the color red, Don... I'm more of a green or yellow person myself. And apparently I don't have the smarts to just edit this post on my own - I needed implicit instructions?)

WELL HELLO WORLD. It's the more optimistic by nature (but pessimistically nurtured) co-blogger (bloggist?) of "Explitive AIM Conversations," the no-doubt coolest co-written blog ever (I'm also quite self-depreciating). I really love using hyphens, parenthesis and alliteration and will have a tendency to correct Don's non-committal capitals at the beginnings of sentences. Tomorrow we'll being our foray into the blogging banter, but for now, I've been relegated into posting an intro.

Unlike Don, I don't read a lot of blogs - I much prefer reading terribly written/edited/formatted online newspapers and making sardonic comments in the "INTERACT!" sections (my pseudonym "gobigpelf" is rarely liked around these parts). In all honesty, I take the news very seriously - so much so that when I realized that I was having a much more torrid love affair with the New York Times than with my boyfriend, I had to drop my journalism major in fear of marriage to an inanimate object.

Don't get me wrong, I love smut. I frequent Perez Hilton and watch "The Best Week Ever" and that will probably be evident in many of our posts (I promise, we're starting tomorrow out with a bang... literally). Just wait and see - you'll be surprised.

(Whether that surprise is good or bad, I don't know...)

Donny Walnuts: I really don't have any problems with the color red... I'll take red... it's the color of Republicans! So by all means, in the next post feel free to take blue.

Do you see what I'm dealing with here people?
